Summer Camp Program

Featuring 8 fun-packed weeks built around a variety of unique and challenging themes, Union is a great place for kids to spend time in the summer.  Focused on fun and learning in an affordable, Christian-based setting, Summer Camp serves children ages 5-11.   Many former campers are employed as counselors and leaders where they share the skills they learned at camp.

Christian Education

At Union, we believe you’re never too old nor too young to learn.

We offer a varied schedule of programs and a weekly youth group experience throughout the year,  providing interesting and encouraging methods of learning God’s Word.  As an important part of the church, youth are provided many opportunities for service as they grow and put into practice the lessons learned from God’s Word.

Christian education classes and small group Bible studies are offered throughout the year for adults of all ages, including:

  • Ladies Sunday School (September – May) – Sundays at 9:00am
  • Adult Sunday School (September – May) – Sundays at 11:00am
  • Nursery – child care is provided for infants and toddlers through the age of four to enable parents the opportunity to participate in the morning worship service. All our nursery volunteers have successfully completed a background clearance check.
  • Wiggle Worship (September – May) – geared for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade, this abbreviated worship time features crafts, music, Bible lessons, games and more and takes place during the Sunday morning worship service.
  • Mid-Week Recharge Gatherings – (September – May) – Wednesdays from 6pm to 7:30pm – a special time for the entire family. The evening starts with dinner in the Fellowship Hall, then from 6:30pm to 7:30pm children gather together for instruction and fun activity while adults have several options to choose from, such as: Bible study, arts and crafts, physical fitness, life skills, and more.
  • Destination Bible Studies (June – August) – a variety of local destinations are highlighted and include a tour and brief history of the locations concluding with a brief devotional time and fellowship.
  • Bible Study – periodic studies of God’s Word are offered throughout the year

Music Ministries

Music is an integral part of the worship experience at Union.   We offer many avenues to support and encourage the love of music, including our Praise Team, Adult Ensemble, and Joyful (bell) Ringers and Joyful Singers for children.  Throughout the year, special musical programs highlight the many talents of our membership.

Methodist Men

Meet monthly from September through May for fellowship and spiritual growth as well as support a variety of ministries and projects.

  • Disaster Relief for Various Communities when needed
  • Support various charities within the Bridgeville and surrounding area
  • Support financial needs of Union Church and its ministries
  • Provide assistance as needed for special events
  • Assist the Methodist Women’s ministries when needed

Methodist Women

Gather monthly from September through May to share in fellowship and spiritual growth. Making ministries and service projects part of their missions, their aid list includes:

  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
  • Disaster Relief for Wildfire, Flooding, and Hurricane impacted areas
  • Redemption City
  • Heifer International
  • Family Ministries
  • Home of Hope
  • Mercy Projects
  • Mitten Tree Ministry to Woodbridge School District children
  • Assist with Kiwanis Club of Bridgeville and Woodbridge School District Sports Programs
  • Support special projects and needs at Union Methodist Church
  • Sunshine card ministry to those ill, facing and/or recovering from surgery, or may just need a bit of encouragement.
  • Christmas basket ministry to our senior saints and shut-ins.

Youth Group (God’s Fire) – Wednesdays @ 6pm (September – May)

Our God’s Fire Youth Group continues to be a place where teens can gather weekly to relax, interact, and grow in their relationship experiences, in their leadership skills, and in their faith. Being part of the youth experience at Union provides unique challenges such as working together to make over 3,000 chocolate Easter eggs to support missions work, participating in many activities both in-house and around the community for special events, and partnering with our Mitten Tree Ministry to help brighten the lives of needy families in the Woodbridge School District each Christmas. Our God’s Fire Youth also provide special worship opportunities through their Sticks Ministry Team.

Community Outreach

This church has a strong history of serving not only the spiritual, but also the physical and emotional needs of this community.

  • We partner with the Woodbridge School District on many projects and events that support children and youth
  • Host the Bridgeville Kiwanis Club which provides support for children and youth service endeavors;
  • Host the Community Easter Egg Hunt open to area children.
  • Each Christmas season Union’s Mitten Tree ministry provides gifts and food to hundreds of needy children and families in the Woodbridge School District community.  This list continues to grow as the needs of our community change.
  • Host the Kid’s Zone at the Woodbridge High School Homecoming pre-game event each year.
  • Hold community Blood Drives during the year in conjunction with the Blood Bank of Delmarva.
  • Host the Woodbridge High School Baccalaureate Service each year for the graduating class.
  • Special services for the community honoring our military, veterans, and first responders.
  • “A Walk of Warmth & Light” – our gift to the community at Christmas time, featuring interactive displays of lights, music, festive decorations and fellowship.
  • Children’s Summer Camp-eight weeks of fun are offered during the summer months for children age 5 – 11. Each week features a different theme while including a variety of experiences through arts and crafts, bible lessons, music, physical exercise, interactive play, sports, game time, special guests and demonstrations.
